Review of Water Drops on Burning Rocks (2000) by Margaret J — 01 Apr 2008
Water Drops On Burning Rocks reminds me a little bit of the film "the dreamers" but better and more fascinating. I also notice that most of the film takes place indoors since most of the four charcters live very lonely lives.
the casting is great, despite the taboo theme of the story and most of all I took them all seriously despite the way they act and live I started to care about them and their curiosity. it's also a sad picture but not depressing so im glad that element is in since it adds a new twist towards the pay off(if there is a payoff I think) I am starting to become a fan the filmmaker Francois Ozon he has a nice touch to the way he films this picture would like to see more of his work again.
