A moving and tragic tale that is not so much a critical look at Hindu widows and the Hindu culture, as a reflection of the life of Hindu women in 1930's India while India was under British rule. An Oscar nominated Foreign Language Film, "Water" is a powerful, almost meditative film that stays with you.
