Review of Water (2012) by Decadence D — 02 Jan 2008
This is unlike any Indian film I've seen. There are many perspectives incorporated into this film- political, cultural, spiritual...- that bring conflict to the story, and which in real life, brings conflict to India's current evolution.
In subtle way, this also gives perspective on east meets west. I thought this film was a stepping stone for India, which is probably why many in India wanted this film to not be made- as it is said in the film, a lot of India's traditional culture is now being exploited to make money.
