Review of Water (2005) by Jayanth N — 11 Oct 2007
This should rate as Deepa Mehta's best. A wonderful performance from Seema Biswas. John Abraham and Lisa Ray are good too. But the best performance is from the little girl Chuiya played by child artiste Sarala.
The film is cleverly interwoven with characters and happenings during the Indian Independence movement. The ending was heart rending and brings tears to even the most stoic amongst us.
