Review of Watchmen (2009) by Kalind H — 16 Jan 2014
Zack Snyder again faithfully adapts the images and feel of his comic source material into a strikingly rendered film. The story is grim at times, nihilistic and surprisingly every bit as adult as the comic that we all remember from the '80s.
His stylized violence wears a tad thin though, as the whole fast-slow-fast action thing is cool once in awhile, but used as often as it is, it gets old.
And I actually found the ending somewhat more satisfying than Moore's original, which surprised me a bit.
Recommended.
