Review of Watchmen (2009) by Stephen W — 29 Mar 2014
As a huge fan of the original film, I was hoping that this film was as if the source material jumped off the page and onto the screen. That isn't quite what happened, but it was quite entertaining nonetheless.
The casting was spot on, the music was quite good (especially in the opening of the film), and the changes from the source material were minimal outside of the ending. Seeing the movie in it's full glory with Tales of the Black Freighter is a must at least once, since the narrative of it ties in so well with the plot of the film, but I can see why many people wouldn't want to do so, since it adds to the already long running time of the film.
It's not for the faint of heart, but definitely worth a watch.
