Review of Watchmen (2001) by Ryan Y — 19 Jul 2015
Top-notch cinematography and a stellar soundtrack make this grim, doomsday drama soar. Set in a parallel 1985 that's unquestionably unnerving, this film will find its way into your psyche. Having never read the graphic novel I went into this film blind, and was swept away in a gritty world of superheroes is never heard of before.
Whilst they don't particularly stand out from one another, as an ensemble piece on good and evil it's catching. Difficult to watch at times and always thought-provoking, I feel I've discovered a real gem hidden in plain sight.
I'm late to the party but I'm glad I arrived.
