Review of Watchmen (2001) by Jake M — 09 Aug 2014
Snyder's loyalty to the comic is understandable and if anything was to be adapted, it should be this timeless graphic novel. However, as a film-maker he fails to put any sort of stamp on it apart from the heavy stylization and colour saturation.
Dialogue more appropriate in a comic sounds artificial and the actors appear to have been given little room to interpret. Not so much an adaptation but a copy and pasting of the original material and therefore it is fundamentally flawed.
