Review of Watchmen (2001) by Richard D — 15 May 2013
As far as a movie goes, everything was great. Visual effects were spectacular, and the soundtrack was amazing. The fight scenes were sick! The acting was good, and the only downside was that it felt long.
The script was great, and very close to the movie. Movie: 9/10. In relations to the novel, it doesn't set apart itself like the novel did. While some of the pictures from the novel seemed to jump perfectly onto the screen, others did not, and were changed, such as the ending, which might make some die-hard fans mad, even though it is the same result as the book.
Some additions that were not in the novel really made the plot good for the movie context. Staying with comic: 7/10 (which is, btw, better than any other movie I've seen based off of a comic book).
Overall: 8/10.
