Review of Watchmen (2001) by Alex M — 18 Dec 2013
Watchmen certainly is not like most superhero movies. While it begins and ends with some fantastic action, most of its center is based around a compelling, dramatic story that poses some unexpectedly deep questions to the viewer.
The cast do a solid job in the acting department, and action (or at least what little there is) looks smooth and brutal. Thankfully, the story moves at a brisk enough pace that it doesn't feel as long as it is, and side stories never feel forced - they remain both interesting and relevant to the tale the movie is trying to tell.
Regardless of the mixed critical response, I had a great time with this - it's like a superhero movie for adults.
