Review of Wartorn: 1861-2010 (2010) by Raul V — 11 May 2011
Revealing & unflinching look at this country's soldiers' experiences on the battlefield...here and abroad. Produced by James Gandolfini, this documentary film chronicles the personal stories of several generations of soldiers (Civil War to the current Iraq War) and the on-going battle of PTSD for many of them.
Disturbing & heart-breaking at times...these along with many other similar stories NEED to be told. Forgetting the politics that generally lead us to war, here are the voices and pictures of those placed on the front lines.
..spanning 150 years of trauma & stress imposed on soldiers & their families. Playing on HBO this month...please, please check this one out. For those who don't have HBO...it will be on DVD starting May 17th.
