Review of Warriors of the Wind (1984) by Gamzguy17 — 21 Aug 2021
The famous Studio Ghibli's debut film and animation/film industry renowned Hayao Miyazaki's second directorial film, "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind" beautifully illustrates the blueprint of the filmmaker's future works where there is an omnipresent triangle battle between man, technology, and nature.
This film balances between those three topics with large power and delicate grace; spearheaded by a strong female lead and an ending that delivers an emotional payoff. Despite just a few sleeper moments, the innovative hand-drawn animation presents a flow of movement seldom seen back in 1984.
I want to explore this world, I want to touch this world, and I want to engage with these characters.
