Review of Warm Bodies (2013) by Hotelcentral — 16 Dec 2015
I watched about 40 minutes and just couldn't take any more of it. I'm thinking the target audience must be teenage girls who want to indulge with the fantasy that love conquers all, even the zombie apocalypse.
The problem with that is that the zombies here aren't actual zombies, not when they start more resembling the living than the dead, which makes the film seem like a fraud. Also, the "comedy" isn't particularly funny and the "romance" isn't especially romantic.
Why there are still electric lights burning at the airport I don't know, since this is apparently some years after the apocalypse, but I'll take a wild guess and assume that no one wanted to bother coming up with an alternate source of illumination that might make some actual sense.
OK, the bony CGI zombies are kind of interesting, but not interesting enough to keep me watching. Yawn. Fear the Walking Dead season one tops this by a mile. So does Quarantine, on a $12 mill budget.
