It was cute, but there was something lacking in this story. It wasn't hearts or brains (literal and figurative, haha), but urgency. Sure, the concept is original, but the resolution is too simplistic, and the love comes way too easy for our characters.
The threat from the "boneys" is not really that scary, and so the danger isn't that real. Still, Nicholas Hoult does a fine job wheezing his way through his lines, but his voice-overs are the real high points of the movie.
