Well I have to say for the die hard fans of War Games the original this movie will be a slap in the face and quite a letdown from the late 80's version. But for those of us with an open mind and a jovial laugh, this movie wasn't as bad as say... sharks or open water(1,2) it was lacking quite a bit. If you step back and examine the overall idea, new v old, not really a new idea but whatever floats your boat. acting left a little to be desired, and I cant really give an accurate critiquing of the story line, the disk I rented was scratched quite a bit so story line may have a few bugs in it that I may have mmmm.... iiii... sed. Overall I'd give the movie a 4 mostly out of respect for the original and the fact that they did try at least somewhat to update a classic.
Oh and slight spoiler, no not really but I thought that it was a nice tribute to times gone by:
In the 80's version the main character HACKS a phone booth, same idea in 08 just different style.
