Review of Wargames (1962) by Harsh C — 18 Aug 2009
Though it delivers an obvious anti-war message, Matthew Broderick's break out film does not disappoint! A young Broderick (even compared to Ferris Bueller) becomes a likeable character from the moment that he appears on screen.
Ally Sheedy is a PERFECT match (or maybe I just like her because she reminds me of Sara?) and they play off of each other brilliantly. Their chemisty together is reminiscent of that high school romance that we all experienced.
Though everything involving computers is outdated, the classic "man vs. machine" conflict is as good as you'll find it anywhere.
