Review of Warcraft (2016) by A.j. S — 10 Jul 2016
Absolutely loved it. For someone who hadn't dabbled in Warcraft, I was afraid that I might not like it one bit but boy I was wrong. Not only Warcraft is very good but its loads of fun too. But yes, for someone who is an expert in Warcraft mythos, this will be a blast for them. The story is that of Orcs who are trying to flee their lands for it is dying and with the help of their chief wizard, theytravel to Azeroth through a portal, but we can already see that the intentions of the said magician aren't really god.
Naturally, the humans, who have never encountered Orcs before are in a struggle to save their lands from the Orc onslaught. Its a pretty simple plot really and anyone who says that otherwise, either did not paid attention or had already made up their mind to not like it.
The visuals of this film are something to gawk at. Clearly love and labor went to bring this world to life and it shows. Often times, the close of orcs was breathtakingly real, despite my brain telling me that this is all CGI. And the magic was by far the best aspect of this film. I mean it felt very heavy and weighty.
I really am hoping that this films gets the sequel because I really want to see where the story goes.
I cannot say for others, but I very much liked the film a lot. Go see it before it disappears from theaters.
