Review of Warbirds (2008) by Caroline F — 04 Feb 2009
Warbirds is the Sci-Fi Channel original film about WW2 female pilots, trained in combat, but better serve the army by transporting "real" soldiers (I guess). They are sent on a mission to escort a small platoon (3 whole men.
..wow) comprised of film's only star Brian Krause (he's been in Charmed and films where he fights multiple Loch Ness monsters, and ventriloquist dummies, so yeah, he's kind of a big deal). There plain gets taken down by flying raptors.
Some have called them pterodactyls, and those would be what we call retards as these raptor birds look NOTHING like what pterodactyls used to look like. Anyways, their CGI plane goes down on the birds' home island where people are killed off camera (no gore, little blood, 100% bland).
In all respects, the film had a decent story to it, but 1945 people were very lame, so these characters were very lame for the most part. The rampant use of CGI was enough to make me want to bash my skull in.
Yes, this film has more holes in it than a dead hooker with 102 stab wounds. Overall, not very good.
