Review of War Room (2015) by Leonard H — 22 Sep 2015
Very good faith-based film.
It strikes me as ludicrous that people are going to go see a movie that is advertised as being faith-based and then criticize it for being faith-based. Yes, it deals with issues from a Christian perspective. That is what it says it is going to do. It doesn't try to hide that fact. It should be blatantly obvious that a movie written from a Christian perspective is going to present things from a Christian perspective. To expect otherwise is like going to the beach in northern Ohio in the middle of winter and expecting it to be 89 degrees, sunny, and ready for a swim.
There were some major issues dealt with in this film. Marital discord, infidelity, job dishonesty, stealing, grace, love, truth. As for "submitting to a resurrected carpenter", as one critic put it, absolutely....That is the only answer for the mess our lives become. Does this promise there will be no problems or that all our problems will go away? Absolutely not. And the film shows that. But it means we will have Someone walking through them with us and helping us.
