I almost didn't go see this movie because of how drama-heavy the last couple of Christian films were. I must say that I am extremely glad that I did!
This movie hit home on all levels for me; I could relate to all the characters for their various faults, disappointments, sorrows, temptations, and triumphs. It emphasized issues within a family that many both within, and outside of the faith can relate to.
It didn't feel rushed; instead, I was able to obtain an emotional understanding of the characters introduced, and was captivated by their journey from beginning to end.
It's sad that "top" critics rated this movie poorly; if you read reviews before going to movies, notice that 91% of the audience that rated this film on this site alone recommend and enjoy this movie.
Another reason I absolutely love this movie is because it's not focused on "religion", it's focused on a relationship with God, and in turn reinforcing your love, patience, and compassion towards others.
I am buying this when it comes out!
