Review of War Room (2015) by Najd G — 09 Apr 2017
I tend to be highly critical of Christian movies - or, more honestly, I avoid them altogether because I have an intolerance for cheese. But, I was pleased with this one. The acting isn't great, but this is a strong story that serves as a modern-day parable not totally unlike the ones Jesus used to tell.
There seems to be some confusion (or indifference) on who Alex Kendrick's audience is here: it's geared towards believers and non-believers alike, but much of the content is clearly a sermon for the choir, as it were.
That being said, if a non-believer stumbled upon this movie, I imagine they'd be pleasantly surprised with the narrative.
