Review of War of the Worlds (2005) by Callum M — 25 May 2018
War of the Worlds is a somewhat inconsistent film on a dramatic level, particularly towards its sentimental conclusion. Nevertheless, it's fusion of Wells-esque paranoia and searing imagery combine to make it one of Spielberg's darkest and most suspenseful works, with some of the strongest iconography in his career.
