== Could contain spoilers == I recently re-watched "War of the Worlds" on DVD, and I was once again reminded of why I enjoyed this film. The atmosphere is amazingly tense, and all but the most jaded of us will find themselves sitting on the edge of their seats throughout the duration of this film.
What Spielberg does, and does so very well, is he creates an overwhelming sense of dread. The film has a dingy quality about it, making the audience believe that they and the characters are in the fog of war.
