Review of War of the Worlds (2005) by Alastair H — 13 Mar 2013
Spielberg demonstrates his skill as a director with some stunning camera work and setpieces in this film. The tripods are genuinely chilling and there is strong sense of dread and unease throughout much of the film.
The effects are stunning and John William's writes his most disturbing and creepy score in years. There are some lapses of logic in the story but this doesn't spoil the overall experience (8-9.9.07), (3.10.08) (27.6.09) (23.12.09) (24.12.10) (13.3.13).
