Soooo overdone. Tom Cruise defies death way too easily especially while half the time holding the real star of the movie, Dakota Fanning, who out-acts everyone. The FX start so big and out of sync with the small sections of the world that they occupy it's a bit disorienting.
It's like two different movies, the acting and the FX, until about halfway through.
