Review of War of the Worlds (2005) by Daniel L — 26 Jun 2014
Not extraordinarily happy with the transfer on this one, but a great retelling of one of my childhoods fondest memories. I wore the cassette tape of Orwell's broadcast out as I listened to it so often.
This film was superbly acted and directed. Even the incidental characters were superb. The landscape itself became a character as it was being invaded by the red vines. A reflection of the battle for the human spirit that was taking place as the alien scourge was itself attempting to wipe out the human race.
Highly recommended.
