While I enjoyed it, it's definitely a mixed bag.
It's like for everything it does right, it does something wrong.
Its scenes of chaos and panic are absolutely horrifying, but it's the most unsubtle 9/11 allegory I've ever seen. The tripodsWhile I enjoyed it, it's definitely a mixed bag.

Its scenes of chaos and panic are absolutely horrifying, but it's the most unsubtle 9/11 allegory I've ever seen.
The tripods are incredibly scary, but the aliens inside them are hilariously goofy.
The performances are all solid, but the characters are very annoying.
What pushes it above average for me it's the ending. I really like the ending. I know some hate it and think it's unsatisfying, but it's refreshingly hopeful and it makes me feel that if aliens were to attack, everything would be ok.
