As I began watching ?War of the Worlds 2 - The Next Wave?, I found myself wondering if it was a comedy satire of the 2005 version of War of the Worlds. That might have explained the poor sets and cheap props, but there was no humor..
Surely the makers of this b-grade farce could not be at all connected with the 2005 film, starring Tom Cruise? The bad actors, awful script, corny backgrounds and hammy sound effects should have been part of a comedy - but no, they were serious!.
Tripods stomped around with the same single sound effect; a dull ?oomph? sound that repeated itself endlessly. Wow ? the producer could not shell out ten bucks for another sound effect, so he just used one, over and over again. The interior of the mother ship was like a bad Doctor Who episode from the sixties.
Instead of shelling out money to see this movie, donate it to charity and watch an old Lost In Space episode instead. You will find it a lot more entertaining..
