This movie, though deeply flawed, is very affecting. It was the perfect movie for me when I saw it. I was maybe 10 then, and I wanted nothing more badly then to have a childhood like the kids in the movie, strange considering the fairly dark ending.
Anyway, it's just lovely and it makes me all sentimental. Don't tell anyone.
