Review of War, Inc. (2008) by Jebus C — 31 Jul 2009
Those expecting a follow up to Grosse Pointe Blank for a similar cast (both Cusacks and Dan Ackroyd) should probably keep walking. War Inc is a big mess that can never quite decide how serious its going to be.
Whether it's a critique on American foreign policy or just a parody of all the post-Gulf War II movies varies from scene to scene. Cusack tries hard but really can't hold together a patchy script.
War Inc has its moments but they're too few and far between. Gags like the cigarette brand being "Democracy lights" (at least that's how I remember it) are good but then they're lost in a sea of other unsuccessful ones.
Horribly hit and miss you're better off just watching Grosse Point Blank again.
