Review of War, Inc. (2008) by Yuuka T — 16 Nov 2009
Bit of a weird piece. War Inc describes a world where massive corporations have the ability to run 3rd-world countries and turn them into war zones for their own profit. Enter John Cusack's character, an assasin who is sent to one of these countries to take out an oil minister cause he pisses off the wrong people. Naturally during his stay in this country, the viewer gets to see what's really going on behind Cusack's fast talking facade - this is followed with the expected search for redemption as Cusack starts to see the world for the first time.
There's an interesting array of support actors (Hillary Duff is NOT one of them) and there are unexpected pockets of humour that kept me from getting bored till the films conclusion.
Overall its a reasonable watch - not as bad as pushing tin but not as good as Grosse Point Blank.
