Review of War, Inc. (2008) by Hookah Smoking Caterpiller — 01 Dec 2008
A complete and direct criticism of today's administration, the film War, Inc. does a decent job of showing how intrusion, subjugation, and cover-up only lead to more truth and investigation. Of course if it wanted to be satirical it could have done more work in the preparation and writing stage.
The action is decent especially near the end with the whole platoon scenario. The comedy was subpar and needed more direction. Hillary Duff surprised me as she shed her good girl innocent Disney alter ego to become the Britney Spears of the middle east.
As for John Cusack, he is himself. Reminded me of Grosse Pointe Blank except for the comedy. Mainly they could have done more with this film, but what to do it's a low budget feature.
