I was never a fan of Black Beauty and I never warmed to this film. It's a war film that keeps on getting interrupted by a horse. A talking horse? A superhorse? At least a proactive endearingly human-like horse? No, just a horse.
If extra-terrestrials got hold of this film I'd be embarrassed for mankind - how can someone be so close to a horse? Ok, noble creature, majestic and all that, agreed, but it's just wrong, it's like Santa being disturbingly close to Rudolf.
Having said all that there were some good fighting scenes and some touching moments, but.... :).
