Review of War Horse (2011) by Deusdedit D — 06 Dec 2012
I really liked this film. It really was about Joey the horse. I thought there would be more with the boy. It is crazy but somehow believable that this Miracle Horse made it's way through the war the way it did. A lot of "overcoming the odds" scenes. Really liked the one in The No Mans Land zone on the front. Joey was great, but a horse personality doesn't translate onto film as much as say a dogs personality. The cinematography was great. The score was typical John Williams. I thought the ending was a fair bit cheesy. I would have written it differently.
But over all a really great family film (aside from the war violence).
