I liked the countryside scenery in the movie. The scenes of World War I were very good, especially since we don't often see this war depicted in the movies. The story was a bit farfeteched, a pie in the sky fairytale with a happy ending.
Overall though, it much too long and drawn out. I became bored quickly and didn't care for the schmaltzy, sappy, overly sentimental background music. For a movie this long length,I'd have liked characters with stronger dialogue and emotion.
A very slow moving film, good to fall asleep by.
