Review of War Horse (2011) by Matthew F. J — 27 Sep 2013
Brilliant though a little long.
MPAA Rating: PG-13.
Runtime: 146 minutes.
Tagline:
Separated by war. Tested by battle. Bound by friendship.
Plot:
Story of a young man Albert who joins the army after his horse is enlisted in the cavalry during WWII. The story takes him and the horse through multiple years and sees death, destruction and finally stands the test of friendship.
Plus:
Moving, brilliantly shot and suitable for all ages!
Minus:
A little long (a usual Spielberg trademark when it comes to war movies) and sometimes is emotionally detached.
Overall:
A superb movie worth watching. Thumbs up!
