Review of War Horse (2011) by Edward C — 07 Nov 2013
Plot/Summary,Set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War, War Horse begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him. When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets-British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter-before the story reaches its emotional climax in the heart of No Man's Land. The First World War is experienced through the journey of this horse-an odyssey of joy and sorrow, passionate friendship and high adventure.
My Review.
This is a film that in it's own way is narrated by the horse itself. The Film is narrated throughout the point of which you feel as if the horse named Joey is a character. That's what makes this film so great, you get connected with the horse because of how he effects people and cause of his friendships along his journey. War Horse is adapted from a novel by Michael Mopurago, this majestic World war 1 drama revolves around Devon lad Albert and his steadfast horse ,Joey is sold to the cavalry and sent off to France. To me the film revolves around Joey the horse and his journey in France, and in war. Steven Speilberg's direct is shown through the movie as well you can tell by the way it's shot it feels like a Steven Spielberg film. War Horse is a treat to good films that are also historic as well. War Horse don't miss it cause if you do,your denying yourself a splendid film with pure beauty and friendship and bonds through animals where you have two separate journey's. War Horse get's a 5 out of 5.
