Based on a children's book, War Horse truly feels like a children's story made for adults. The journey of the horse was quite imaginative and the characters he encountered were well created and the actors gave them a feeling of genuineness.
The battle scenes were at times even reminiscent of scenes from Spielberg's classic Saving Private Ryan. Nonetheless, while inspirational and touching, War Horse at times becomes far juvenile when one really thinks about the boy's infatuation for the horse, especially in terms of how it continues well into adulthood.
