Review of War Horse (2011) by Sahara K — 01 Nov 2012
Great film. I loved the story of it. How one horse (Joey) and to an extent one young male (Albert) defy the odds stacked against them in the midst of war, to once again meet each other. Great acting from all the cast.
Especially the horses! Having got interested in the film by finding out that Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch were in this, I would have liked to see more of there characters, Captain Nicholls and Major Stewart, as I got instantly attached to them in regards for there affection of there horses.
The special effects were stunning and this along with the music really made the film dramatic and emotional such as when we first see the British riding off to war and a moment later finding that Captain Nicolls had died.
Another point was at the climax of the film where Joey, got caught in wire. Another great film of Steven Speilberg and has all the markings of a classic.
