Review of War Horse (2011) by The Movie C — 28 Nov 2014

While certain parts of the film felt a little gratuitous and sappy, especially closer to the end, this movie is packed with some wonderful cinematography and excellent action sequences. I couldn't get over how majestic the horse was! Having seen the wonderful epic that was the play, I had to restrain myself from making too many comparisons.

While I think the play is and always will be superior, this is still a well done movie. This is not Spielberg's best film, but it is definitely worth a watch.
