Review of War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) by Gábor D — 17 Jun 2018
Another not innovative movie, that follow the same mistakes 75% of today's movie make. The plot was lacking a lot, and there could have been a lot more to this movie. The writing was just simply lazy.
Directing style and editing style was rather average, and there was nothing new that an action movie could add. The actors where OK, and the pacing of the story was all right as well. But the story left desiring and it had no real message in the end.
Which is the other thing, this title was the ending episode of this trilogy, and they made it too cliche and unsatisfying. And the biggest mistake was that it wasn't that much fun to watch than the first 'Apes' movie, and sadly wasn't entertaining enough to drag in new audiences.
Also the visual effects where good, but exaggerated and straight out of a Michael Bay movie, which at this point is just boring. Overall it's a slightly above average movie.
