War for the Planet of the Apes lacks of interest in the first half of the movie, because its rare to turn a noiseless monkey movie interesting in the eyes of a human being, it reminds The Revenant but with monkeys.

However the second half its gory, dark, interesting, it counts with a witted touching narrative, the characters become interesting and the visual effects are dazzling. Very original but it could have been a little more twisted.
