Review of War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) by Mark J — 17 Dec 2017
A pretty grim and raw film which at times resembles a period-war piece, but in the future. It's adds a strong layer of complexity which has the audience rooting for the Ape species, but then are reminded that the success of the Ape Species will most likely mean the end of the Human Species, which really conflicts the viewer in an interesting way that creates for a very thought-provoking message.
All this along with great suspenseful actin and brilliant expressive animations for the Apes. The ape could have been silent, and their expressions alone would have spoken for themselves. A great film and kudos to the team that worked on it!
