Review of War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) by Andgiog12022 — 18 Jul 2017
War for the Planet of the Apes is not just about the power struggle between humans and primates, it is a film about morality, humanity's conflict with nature, and the psychological repercussions of war.
It is a blockbuster more philosophical than you think. War in the title is not only referring to the battle that will determine the fate of the ape species, but it is alluding to Caesar's warfare with his inner-self; as he is struggling to overcome his revenge, guilt, and sorrow.
This is a film with more heart and emotion than any film I have seen all year. "War" faithfully concludes the series on a strong and positive note.
