Review of War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) by Margaret M — 20 Jul 2017
This movie was very well written and the special effects were phenomenal. If you have been following the Planet of the Apes franchise, you won't be disappointed with this movie. This movie has a lot of symbolism written within the movie regarding those that have been oppressed, and it connects previous movies to the plot and outcome of this movie.
There were times when I had to think back on the original Charlton Heston movie and you can see how the writers are connecting the theories of what happened in the 1st movie to the War of apes movie. You can't help but have a connection with the main character Caesar, and this connection is what keeps you on the edge of your seat.
This movie at times is constant violence , but a drama and a thriller all in one. This is a sci-fi movie so of course things aren't going to be realistic. Many people that may not think this movie is worth four or five stars are putting too much thought into it and trying to connect the plot with reality.
Its pure sci-fi. This movie is very well done, and it may not be the end.
