Review of War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) by Tomas L — 13 Jul 2017
This is my first movie review, so here it goes.
Whoever wrote this final chapter clearly didn't get the ALZ-112. With a perfect set up set by the first two films towards an epic conclusion that was poorly delivered. The core conflict established between the apes and humans was forgotten for an unnecessary story of the revenant ape that escapes prison once again. Creating a story behind the coronel character of avatar and adding useless conflict between him and humans with a poor excuse of a random simian-flue. What happen to the conflict of apes living side by side to the humans? What happen to the war that we were all waiting for? What happen to solving this war with knowledge or wisdom? ("What happen did your balls drop off?") Apparently all this conflict can be buried under the snow and forgotten. This film has buried the powerful message that could have been communicated to humanity and the potential of a great trilogy. Leaving the first two master pieces under the avalanche. 2 stars for amazing visuals.
