Review of War Dogs (2016) by Jonathan B — 12 Mar 2017
I was disappointed by this movie as I'd had high expectations. It is the story of how a couple of chancers find a way of bidding for contracts to provide the US army with weapons during the Iraq War.
I've always found Jonah Hill very watchable as an actor but in this, I quickly found him quickly irritating. The only way a movie like this can work is if you actually like the main characters and find something to admire and latch on to.
Sadly, Miles Teller is instantly forgettable and Hill overbearing so instead of engaging with them and wanting them to succeed, I actually really couldn't wait for them to fall on their arses.
