Review of War and Peace (1956) by Mark S — 22 Nov 2011
Despite epic cast, just does not do justice to Tolstoy, very long in spite not capturing much of the essence of the book--better done as a mini-series I think, and I just can't understand the casting and accents for these characters.
As much as I like them elsewhere, this isn't culturally Russian enough. This should be done in Russian and French the way it was written. Oh well, I'll always love Audrey Hepburn at any rate.
