Review of Wanted for Murder (1946) by Jean F — 26 Jun 2008
Psychological thriller, co-written by Emeric Pressburger; it kinda sorta presages "Peeping Tom." (Okay, it's a bit of a stretch... but it does.) The ending is rather abrupt, I wanted more time to suffer with the condemned man. I love watching Eric Portman's face.
Lately when I watch older movies shot on location, I tend to spend half the time looking at the streets and the clothes and the public transport. And the hats. Great hats. (Especially Dulcie Gray's "toy hat" in the first scene.).
I think I'll go on an Eric Portman spree now.
