Review of Wanted: Dead or Alive (1987) by Ola G — 04 Feb 2012
Nick Randall (Rutger Hauer) is a modern-day bounty hunter on the hunt for the notorious terrorist Malak Al Rahim (Gene Simmons). Nick is called on after Malak disrupts Los Angeles with a series of fatal bombings. A cat and mouse chase begins....
I reckon most of us who were teenagers in the early 80s had Rutger Hauer on the top five list of cool actors. Thinking of movies such as "Nighthawks", "Blade Runner", "Flesh And Blood", "Ladyhawke", "The Hitcher" etc. When reseeing "Wanted Dead Or Alive" it is quite clear this is however not really amongst the better Hauer vehicles. Pretty poor set up, so so acting and action sequences plus a story that really reeks 80s. A classic B-movie to be gentle. It was nice though to see a stunning Mel Harris, had kind of forgotten about her. Not a must see for Hauer fans.
